Attorney George Vargas was born in Costa Rica and moved to the United States in 1987 to attend Riverside Military Academy in Gainesville, Georgia. He finished high school in 1992 and moved to Champaign, Illinois, where he joined the United States Army at the age of seventeen. After being honorably discharged, he returned to Champaign to attend college. He graduated from the University of Illinois in 1998, with a double major in Sociology and Political Science.
George graduated from the Michigan State University College of Law in 2004 and since joining Steigmann Law focuses on automobile accidents, medical malpractice, catastrophic injury litigation, workers’ compensation, and general litigation.
George is bilingual and readily serves the Spanish speaking community, often engaging clients after hours and at their homes.
George is currently a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army Reserve and has served in the military for 31 years. He is a Judge Advocate General (JAG) and an airborne qualified officer. He has completed overseas tours in Kuwait, Iraq, and Afghanistan.
George mentors children through the C-U One to One Mentoring Program, and is a Master Mason with Western Star Lodge No. 240 in Champaign. He is also a lifetime member of Piatt County VFW 5346 in Monticello.
George lives in Champaign with his wife and two children.
